Appreciation Dinner
Sonny Buchanan’s tragic death from the Sniper attacks
in 2002 brought many in the Washington Metropolitan Region
together to honor his life and establish Sonny’s Kids
Foundation, Inc. to carry on Sonny’s work with children.
Sonny believed in giving back to the community through volunteerism,
and The Board of Directors of the Foundation organized an
Appreciation Dinner to recognize all who have contributed
to the success of Sonny’s Kids. The 2005 Appreciation
Dinner was held Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Hilton
Hotel in Gaithersburg.
Golf Tournament
The Sonny’s Kids Golf Tournament is the biggest fundraising
event each year and is held at the Montgomery Village
Country
Club in Montgomery Village, Maryland. Sponsors, foursomes
and volunteers are needed for the Sonny's Kids Golf Tournament.
The 2009 tournament is Monday, September 28, 2009,
at the Montgomery Village Golf Club in Montgomery
Village, Maryland. After lunch, a shotgun start is planned
for 12:30 PM, with dinner and the awards ceremony to follow
at the end of the tournament. Please register

To date, the six golf tournaments held since 2002 have
brought approximately $90,000 in donations to The Sonny’s
Kids Foundation, Inc.
