2009 Sonny's Kids Foundation Scholarship Awards

This year Sonny’s Kid celebrated their Annual Scholarship Awards on May 28, 2009 at the Boys & Girls Club of Germantown. Our theme this year was “A Year of Change.” The participants were the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silver Spring, Germantown and Northwestern.

Congratulations to our recipients as well as participants:

Scholarship Awards:

• $5,000.00 Beresford Pratt
  Beresford plans on attending Penn State in the fall.
• $2,500.00 Kelsey Nicole Nelson
  Kelsey will be a senior at Clarksburg High School
• $1,000.00 Helen Seifu
  Helen is a student at Montgomery Blair High School

On top of awarded scholarships, each participant received $50.00 Gift Certificates to help with School Supplies.

Grades K-9 Award Recipients each received $100.00 Gift Certificate... Congratulations!

• Silver Spring:   Christian Alvarado & Elijah Morgan

Sonny's Kids also donated $1,200.00, which was divided between the two clubs (Germantown and Silver Spring) towards summer camps.

At our last Golf Tournament Michela Fabrizio was presented with Sonny’s Kids Foundation 2008 Community Service Award. She has volunteered many hours to Sonny’s Kids Foundation working each summer to help us update our records. Were so pleased to have her as a volunteer.
